Ovacik is a large valley situated between Fethiye and Oludeniz. The main dolmus (bus) route and road through the centre is where the majority of restaurants and bars can be found, although there are a number of smaller options scattered along the back streets and village lanes. Many hotels have restaurants and facilities open to non-residents and often run very reasonably priced Turkish BBQ and entertainment nights – keep your eyes open for signs.
Ovacik tends to have many cheaper restaurants and is the place to go if you want tasty eats at good prices, here are just a few ideas to start you off in the right direction:
If you fancy trying some traditional dishes served up at great prices head to 3 Cheers Restaurant found on the main Ovacik road between the large NGI offices and Orka hotel.
On the 2nd Ovacik back road is the popular little Turtle restaurant. Serving up tasty English home comfort dishes, good Sunday roasts and snacks, it’s very reasonably priced and serves with a smile!
Just along from Turtle on the same back road is Aegean. A simple menu of traditional and English eats can be found, it’s popular with ex-pats and locals.
Friar Tucks Bar
Head along the main Ovacik Road and you will find Friar Tucks just down from Orka Hotel on the corner towards Fethiye. Open year round, it’s a popular bar with a couple of pool tables and serves a good variety of snacks and light meals throughout the day and evenings.
A lively restaurant serving up a simple but tasty array of English, Turkish and Italian dishes with chips, rice and salad. Head towards Hisaronu and you will find it on the left opposite Sok supermarket.
Situated on the corner just by Orka Hotel is the popular Mirage restaurant and bar. With a good varied menu and friendly service, it’s a popular option.
